Christchurch supporters of 350 and 1010NZ   worked together successfully for the 'Global Working Bee' on 10th October to run 5 events, with many partner groups. Follow up phone contact: 021 462 260 Christchurch Programme PDF is here. First photos here.

There was lots happening across NZ (350 Aotearaoa estimate 75 events!)  For example -

Timaru held a coastal clean up at Scarborough Beach and tree planting.

Auckland had a bike repair & skills event at Viaduct Harbour, a sustainable living skills festival in Devonport, a community garden and composting project in Mt Eden. The Vegetarian Food and Lifestyle Festival to publicise 10:10 and sustainable living.

Coromandel had a restoration planting event at Earthwise Valley, and  similar at Kokatau near Carterton, Wairarapa.

Wellington had the Big Bike Fix Up downtown at Waitangi Park, also urban orienteering on the Wellington Wander and a project to Warm Up Wellington student flats.  Porirua people were removing coast line rubbish at Paramata.

Dunedin students for environmental action have formed 'gardening gangs'. There was a Swap It for clothing, too. A local food shared picnic at Woodhaugh Gardens with music and kids activities.

Marlborough held a Festival and the Girls College were promoting biking to school

Invercargill's promoting bucket gardens (you can take them indoors before it snows!).
