People to help you take action:

For free phone information on how to cut your carbon emissions by making simple changes to your lifestyle and home, contact Home Energy Advice lines (based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch) for impartial, expert advice: 0800 388 588.
Supporting information including the Energy Spot videos available from EECA at their energywise website

In some areas, home visits are available from experienced Eco-Design Advisors, based at local councils, who can help on energy aspects of house renovation and new-build projects.

Some energy companies and architects are also active in this field - ask around locally for recommendations. We expect that some of them will become 10:10 organisations, to show that they too 'walk the talk'.

If you prefer to learn in a more sociable way than phone calls or web-page visiting, meeting with others who share your interests and concerns, consider joining Sustainable Living study group or evening class
The Transition Town Groups around NZ may also provide a good connection point locally with people who share your climate concern and aim to respond imaginatively.
